TN Online Total Nitrogen Water Quality Analyzer
>>Overview
Total nitrogen in water primarily originates from nitrogenous organic matter decomposed by microorganisms in domestic wastewater, industrial effluents such as coking and synthetic ammonia production, and agricultural drainage. Elevated total nitrogen levels in water bodies pose toxic effects on aquatic life and varying degrees of harm to humans. Measuring total nitrogen concentrations aids in assessing water pollution levels and "self-purification" status, making it a critical indicator of water quality contamination.
This analyzer operates autonomously under long-term unattended and continuous operation based on field configurations. It is widely applicable to industrial wastewater discharge, municipal sewage treatment plants, environmental surface water monitoring, and similar scenarios. Depending on on-site complexity, optional preprocessing systems can be integrated to ensure reliable testing processes, accurate results, and compliance with diverse operational demands.
>>Principle
The analyzer employs the potassium persulfate oxidation-resorcinol spectrophotometric method. After mixing the water sample with a masking agent, total nitrogen (existing as free ammonia, ammonium ions, or other forms) reacts with potassium persulfate under alkaline conditions in the presence of a sensitizing agent, forming a colored complex. The analyzer detects this chromatic change, converts it into a total nitrogen concentration value, and outputs the result. The intensity of the colored complex corresponds to the total nitrogen concentration.
