Product Description

Manganese Online Water Quality Analyzer

>>Overview

Manganese (Mn) is a hard, brittle, silvery-white metal widely found in nature. It constitutes approximately 0.25% of soil and is abundant in tea, wheat, and nuts. In metallurgy, manganese is used to produce specialty steels and serves as a deoxidizer and desulfurizer in steelmaking. As an essential trace element, manganese is critical for forming enzymes with vital physiological roles. The recommended daily intake is ‌3–9 mg‌, and it is necessary for healthy bone structure. However, ‌chronic occupational manganese poisoning‌ results from prolonged exposure to manganese dust or fumes, primarily affecting the nervous system. Early symptoms include neurasthenic syndrome and autonomic dysfunction. Advanced stages involve extrapyramidal damage, psychiatric symptoms, and severe cases may manifest as ‌Parkinsonian syndrome‌ or ‌toxic psychosis‌.This monitor operates autonomously under ‌long-term unattended continuous operation‌ based on field configurations. It is widely applicable to industrial wastewater discharge, process wastewater, industrial and municipal sewage treatment plants, and similar environments. Depending on on-site complexity, optional preprocessing systems can be integrated to ensure ‌reliable testing processes‌, ‌accurate results‌, and compliance with diverse operational demands.

>>Principle

The product employs the ‌spectrophotometric method‌ for manganese detection. After mixing the water sample with a buffer agent, manganese is oxidized to its higher oxidation state using a strong oxidizing agent. In the presence of a buffer solution and indicator, the oxidized manganese ions react with the indicator to form a ‌colored complex‌. The monitor detects this color intensity change at specific wavelengths, converts it into manganese concentration values, and outputs the results. The amount of colored complex generated corresponds to the total manganese concentration.
